Feng Shui This | Making Hay While the Sun Shines

Nothing smells better in the summertime than fresh cut Timothy hay, unless it’s bales of Alfalfa. Hay time always reminds me of growing up on the farm and riding on the back of the hay wagon, trying to hang on to those wobbling hay bales! Sometimes my dad would stack them so high he wouldn’t allow us to ride on top. Here in Bluegrass Country, we grow a lot of Alfalfa for its high protein and ease of digestion.

Feng Shui This | Thoroughbred Babies

Kentucky Thoroughbred Baby

We had a beautiful, sunny day and I couldn’t resist the urge to go photograph some babies.  Winter has stayed too long and we’re anxious for more of these beautiful days.
Spring in Thoroughbred country is filled with dancing colts and fillies, beautiful brood mares and yearlings ready to shed their winter coats.
There are horse farms for sale in Kentucky, and many are turn-key operations.  Just bring your love for horses and we’ll find one to suit you.  It’s never been easier to get started on your dream.  Or, you may just want to find a home with horses in your back yard.  There are a lot of those around, too.    And, remember…there’s nothing more important in feng shui than beautiful forms…and in Kentucky, the most beautiful forms are in the shape our fields of Bluegrass, and our horses.

Feng Shui This | What Spooked My Horse?

We say horses who are nervous or jumpy are “spooked”.  Well,  those horses are literally being bothered by “spooks” in one form or another and I’ve had great success getting rid of them.   One horse was impossible to ride, another just difficult.  One “spooked” at one spot in the pasture, while another showed extreme animosity toward his farrier.  All these horses had something very real bothering them, and all are much, much better now that those things are gone.

Today the clouds were fluffy and the horses were gorgeous.   I’m thankful to be able to enjoy such a day with some of the most beautiful animals on earth.      But, what I really love is being able to do something that will keep those beautiful animals from hurting their owners or the farriers who work with them.

Kentucky Real Estate | Lets buy a horse farm!

Apparently Duncan thinks I should have brought a gift.

A couple of Days ago, Dan and I went for a drive in the countryside.  I wanted to introduce him to a special fellow I had met last fall.   I always feel better after chatting a bit with Duncan.

This visit though, Duncan seemed a bit miffed.  It was as though he was scolding me for being away so long…like I should have been out more often paying homage to his regal nature.  I guess I can’t argue with that.

It reminded me though how fast spring is approaching!  Flowers are starting to bloom! It’s time to start farm shopping…And, if you’re in the market for a small horse farm, I’ve got just the place.  Call me and we’ll go out and tiptoe through the horses.
