Fire Water in Lexington

Fire Water in LexingtonTriangle Park

So, who says Lexington, Kentucky isn’t cool?  Not me!  I went downtown today and found the most amazing thing!

The water at Triangle Park’s fountain has been changed to a deep red. Sure, it was a mistake! They wanted it to be pink, (another story altogether) but someone goofed. So, now the question is, will it have an effect on the Feng Shui of Lexington Center?

The water is in the east, at the front. The Lexington Center was built in 1976, making it a period 6 building and placing the 7, 2 and 3 water stars in fire water.  The annual 5 will also have some fire water…and this may bring more money than they were expecting.  Of course, some of this depends on how long the water is red.  Lets hope they keep it bright for a while.  It really does look pretty cool.

Feng Shui This | A Weed by Any Other Name

Signs of Spring It’s a beautiful spring here in Kentucky.  Mares are dropping foals quicker than toddlers can spread dandelion seeds! Knee Deep in Bluegrass and  Dandelions There’s nothing like Kentucky in the spring.  I’ve visited some beautiful places, but none is greener than Kentucky.   It’s always good to come back home.

Feng Shui This | Professional Organizer

Recently my mother came to live with us.  This in itself is a life-changing event for anyone.  Our home is very small…big enough for my husband and myself, but strained at the seams when you bring in another person, her dog, and a big pile of their “stuff”.  We gave her the room I...

Feng Shui This | Depressed?

Feng Shui This | Depressed?

It seems a man decided to end it all and jump off a high bridge. He picked one he thought would do the trick, the highest place he knew of in Kentucky, the I-75 bridge over the Kentucky River.   About half way down he changed his mind. Luckily there were fishermen near where...

Feng Shui This | Appalachia

Feng Shui This | Appalachia

I remember President Johnson’s “War on Poverty” in the 60′s.  My grandmother would pick up government cheese and marvel at how, “They just give it away, honey!”  Although she didn’t really need it, she got it because it was free and the people of those mountains never passed a bargain.  She gave out her...

I have a friend who has passed her mid 80′s.  You might think of her as old … until you meet her.  Evelyn has had an amazing life, and continues to look forward to amazing things!   A few months ago she decided she wanted a dump truck.  Imagine that!  Even she had...

Feng Shui This | Holiday Feng Shui

The first principle of misery is envy…therefore the first principle of happiness is gratitude.  This season of Thanksgiving is the perfect time to thank God for all of your blessings, whether they are the pleasant blessings or not. In the book “The Hiding Place”,  Corrie ten-Boom gives an important lesson on being thankful.  She...

Feng Shui This | Pumpkin Spider

Feng Shui This | Pumpkin Spider

This week we’ve had a spider at our front porch.  She’s a beautiful pumpkin color and I couldn’t bear to take down her web.  She’s put it out of our way and unless someone’s deathly afraid of spiders, having her there is not a problem.  I’ve named her “Pumpkin” and I’m fascinated by the...

Feng Shui This | Bologna

They say that having a blog gives a person the right to say what they think.  Well, that’s probably true, but does it really? I’ve had a blog for quite a while now and I’ve always had to censor myself in one way or another, for fear of antagonizing one OR another.  That’s changing....

Feng Shui This | Making Hay While the Sun Shines

Feng Shui This | Making Hay While the Sun Shines

Nothing smells better in the summertime than fresh cut Timothy hay, unless it’s bales of Alfalfa. Hay time always reminds me of growing up on the farm and riding on the back of the hay wagon, trying to hang on to those wobbling hay bales! Sometimes my dad would stack them so high he...
